One of the shows was about the construction of the memorial itself. They have a memorial that wraps around that big hole in the ground, with peoples' names cut through the metal. They filmed some of the pieces being cut at the shop and in one scene of all coincidences they had Pete's wife and family there to see HIS name being cut in the metal.

He was a great guy... (reply)

I had the pleasure of meeting him and shooting with him at a couple of earlier NorEasters. He and I actually exchanged emails that night about that very gun.

I will NEVER forget how he ended his last email to me, talking about the fire house and his job...."I LOVE THIS JOB"...those were his last words to me, in caps.

RIP, Pete.

I didn't know Pete, as I joined the group sometime around 2003 or 2004. However, any time I read that post, it makes me think about him and his family that night, not knowing how much their lives would change in just 14 or 15 more hours.

He must have been a good man, for so many good men to think so highly of him. I wish I had known him.
