<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Get a plain ordinary picnic plastic spoon and light it on fire.  It will burn with a dark sooty smoke.  You can run the sight through that smoke a few times well above the flame and it will leave a sooty deposit on the sight that will blacken it.  If you decide this is what you want then just get some flat black paint to put on it.  Either of these can be cleaned off in the future if need be.</p>
