I found one a couple of years ago, a 686+ Mountain Gun that is. It's one that I don't plan to ever sell.

I have had similar thoughts. Picked uo a 686-3 and wish it had the same front sight as the 617. Wonder if any one makes a replacement insert changing the orange one for flat black. Good luck with yours.

for the last few years. I miss the 2.5" Plus I carried years ago and I really want to put together a 686+ Mountain Gun. To me, that seems like the ultimate incarnation of the Police Officers (& outdoorsmans) best friend. I haven't got to the MG yet. I found this slicked up 686+ pre lock all steel gun as is for under 600 otd and was able to trade some gun leather towards it. I think I need to keep looking for another to make the MG... this is going to stay in it's current format. My son made this holster for me for my Andy Cannon 686...
