I have a Simmons rimfire scope on my Ruger American Rimfire in 22 long rifle. There’s a Leupold 2-7 rimfire on my 22 magnum version and I’m pretty happy with both scopes and rifles

…..but it appears to have been made by Simmons, and their rimfire series are generally considered to be pretty good for the money.

I know I’ve used them on a couple of .22 rifles and been quite satisfied.

I was ordering some Marbles front sights .. ivory bead .. (reply)

barrel blanks .. little stuff. And the company I was ordering from - Midwest Gun Works - popped up a sale on Remington 3 X 9 scopes complete with rings for a really good price. Since I had taken the scope off my .22 Magnum for use on the Shootists .45 Colt levergun I ordered one. Turns out to be a pretty nice scope.

I put a new scope on my Ruger American .22 Magnum

At the Range this morning I started at 25 yards.

I got the scope dialed in fairly close and then fired this target. I shot once and was gonna adjust the windage but thought, No, I will shoot a couple more to make sure that's where it's hitting. I fired 2 more and through the spotting scope could see they were tight, so I shot twice more.

Then I moved to 50 yards. I had not yet adjusted the windage.

After that I started adjust the windage. on this target I shot the top left hit .. adjusted the scope fired the top right .. adjusted the scope right and down and fired the 3 lower hits.

Then I shot some Hornady V-Max 30 grain loads. They hit about an inch higher than the CCI Maxi Mags.

After that I spent some time shoot clay pigeon laying on the berm. This is a fun little rifle and easy to shoot.
