Gotta love it when a plan comes together. Trouble at the range is way superior to trouble in the field.

Glad to know I'm not the only that makes a range trip only to find out I left something important back at the house...

Forced excerise......

Needed to re-sight in my Ruger UL .243 for an up coming Ram hunt, I had completely striped and cleaned it then re-mounted the scope, been a few years since I last used it. Went to the range to sight in the scope, fired the first 3 shot group to check target impact and it dawned on me, didn't bring the spotting scope and tripod

The little Ruger has a Leupold 2-7x scope, easy to see the target but impossible to see the 243 caliber holes in the paper target. So I fired a group, walked 100 yards to the target, checked it, walked back 100 yards and shot another group, did this for 6 groups. Been a few years since I last shot at 100 yards so the spotting scope was not on my mind at all.

Bonus, the UL is a shooter and loves 95 gr Ballistic Tip bullets with max load of powder and will put 3 shots within 5/8" grouping at 100 yards.
