We have been taking whatever we can get and finally have a good supply of .223/5.56 and 9mm on the shelf but great difficulty getting .30-06, .243, .22-250, 7mm-08, .30-30, .38 Spec and .357 Mag. Our sourcing has extended to other shops which have supply they can't sell due to local laws (e.g. 6.5 CR, .30-06 and .300 Win Mag from Iowa).

Due to the ongoing craziness I haven’t spent much time in gun shops lately but on a recent trip to a local one, that usually carries reloading stuff, they had a decent supply of various Sierra Bullets. I’m in pretty good shape, so I didn’t even skim them to see what they had. The next shelf over, which is usually stocked with primers was totally full of XTP’s in 9mm and .357, looking like that had just got a big order of them in. Or maybe it was something that popped up on a distributor’s website and they just jumped on them , knowing they would sell? Hard telling…

Working in a shop I've heard all sorts of stories and thoughts from all sorts including those of distributor sales people and customers and I've come to the conclusion that the shortages are real, unevenly distributed and caused by many contributing factors. I am convinced that we will be 2-years into a pro-gun president before the shortages of anything begin to ease. WHY? Because that is what it will take to get things back on an even keel. All the shortages begun due to the pandemic lock-down are being exploited/exacerbated by the current socialist politicians in charge. Stalin didn't mind starving his politically unreliable citizens and these people don't care either. The elites will always have what they want as they will always have the necessary items (gold/silver/money/energy/people) to exchange for those things and access to the trade routes.

I will say this again and again, we have recorded exactly what has and will happen in such times in our histories and in our fiction even and perhaps most particularly written by the "liberals"/socialists themselves. If you want to see what will happen just read.

I am glad I had such a good life but it will likely be over all too soon.

Stuff in Stock at Local Shops

Hi all.

I got out yesterday to a regional chain store called "Runnings"... my first time ever in one. It's kind of like what you'd get if you built a Tractor Supply and added a bunch of sporting goods to it.

It turns out they carry reloading supplies. Their powder shelves were nearly empty... four pounds of powder in stock, including one Pyrodex, one Triple 7, one Longshot, and one IMR4895 (which, this last one I grabbed).

They had a fair supply of component bullets on hand for the common pistol calibers and .223- and .30-caliber rifle. I scored two boxes of .308-caliber Hornady Interlocks, one of 170-grain flat-points for .30-30 and some 180-grain PSPs for the '06.

Interestingly, although I would bought Noslers or Speers or Sierras if they had 'em, what they had on hand was mostly Hornady (which I also like just fine). I brought two boxes of Hornady bullets home to set alongside three other partial boxes of Hornady bullets.

It makes me wonder if Hornady has been better at fighting the supply chain issues just lately, or has better manufacturing capacity than the other firms.

-AaronB
