My Father is also 88, and while sharp mentally, he is deteriorating physically.

My Dad is 88 years old and we all know he nears the end of his days. He's pretty cool about things really and I am amazed. Death doesn't scare me on a personal level...I'll go when God sends for me. It's a bit tougher for me when I think of others.

He's been declining for a few years now physically. Mentally, he's still got it going on. He recently contracted an infection which won't play nice and go away. He ended up in a hospital for a day or two and has recently been transferred to a transitional care unit attached to the hospital. Things are too muddled at the moment to know, or even offer odds, as to whether or not he'll be going home.

I ask that you keep him in your prayers and to ask also that my siblings and I make the best decisions for his care.
