An interesting problem with a new pistol...

I picked up a Walther P22 w/laser for a fun toy a couple weeks ago and all was good until the other day. It stopped firing in double action mode, did not even leave so much as a faint firing pin mark on the rim. The odd thing is that it still works just fine in single action mode and produces deep firing pin hits. I called Walther and they did not know what could cause this and just said to send it in for service and emailed me a FedEx label and a form for returning it.

I don't want to pull a new gun apart and risk voiding the warranty, but am curious if anyone else has seen anything like this happen before?
