We just got home from Palmer on the first and they still had not found the bear. Went to the Russian for a short fishing jaunt with a bunch of new fisherfolks and had lots of fun but not much in the way of fish. it was fun to see the bear trails through the ferns and watch a couple of the city folks walk a little puckered up on the way to the mouth of the river.

the same stars where a young man had his face torn off, circa 2004... walked up to where I had a bear charge and was inspired to design my Chesty Puller Straps for chest Carry. I was carrying the ideal bear gun, my .45ACP M&P, it is superb, obviously, as I saw no bears Had a couple wags yell "Hey bear" at me a few times...river was high and the wind was in my eyes so now Russian river reds that trip.
We knocked dead in Main Bay. also saw no bears... two humpback whales and 50 eagles in one huge ball of fish carci. Sorry I missed you. Next time! I did train 3 new pistoleros !

bear attacks just out side anchorage

one of our receptionist's brother-in-law failed to return from a hike yesterday, just near here. a group of his friends went up the same trail looking for him today......a brown bear mauled one of them, severe leg injury. other searchers found the missing man, who had been mauled and partly consumed ....presumably by this bear !

I don't know if he or any of them were armed......... if not, that's the same as not wearing your seat belt, you know, because statistically you almost never really need it...

really sad around here.
