We'll be coming in Thursday afternoon some time. If you remind me, I'll have a pistol along with a set of their panels you can look over. (I think...have to double check the pile.)

I have seen plain fully checked walnut on ebay from time to time. Arhends do them nicely.

1911 walnut grips (reply)

Oops, sorry. Actually what I want is just plain fully checkered walnut with no medallions, like they put on the prewar commercial Government Model. The originals are somewhat rare and muy espensible, so aftermarket grips of the same style would be great.

1911 walnut grips

Does anyone happen to have a set of the old fully-checkered dark walnut grips for a 1911 that they would part with? I've got a .38 Super Government Model that's getting a little carry wear on it and I'd like to make it look like one of the old prewar Supers. Wouldn't mind if they had a scuff or two as long as they are solid.

Fancy grips are nice and all, but the older I get the more I appreciate the retro look.

Thanks,

Catoosa
