not having a tee vee for 15-17yrs, (due to disgust over ever louder and more shocking commercials, and even more horribly shocking shows, squeezed in between ever growing commercial segments), that when you visit someone or place with these new highdeaf tee vees and look at the attention hounds in the box, their makeup appears heavier than those in a long wooden box, men and women, to the point of appearing as store props or dead people. Absolutely unreal, except to those accustomed/addicted to it. The new normal. And it shows, everywhere.

It sounds like the behavior was what you'd expect from people with no values, personality or morality of their own. Everything they are is written by people they usually don't even know, and like the good little phoneys they are, they are just reading from a script. The newscasters & even the weather casters are the exact same way. No substance of their own, just read the script. They are the true mental cases, and I'm simply being polite with that minimal remark. There is no reality in the entertainment industry anymore, It's all fake.

Somebody help me off'n my soapbox here, I need a drink...

My wife insisted on watching.

This year was not as offensive as it could be. If you watch carefully it just reinforces that the goal of Hollywood is to make immorality seem normal so people will accept it. And it is obvious that they like tightening up border security.

I didn’t own a TV set for about 10 years, maybe longer. When I got married my wife wanted one, and when the kids came along it seemed like a good idea to have one.

However, we noticed that the kids were obsessed with the d@mn box, especially the ads. So we closed our cable account and switched to streaming Netflix. The kids watch much less now, and we have better control over what they see.

I, for one, still don’t watch it. A movie with the kids every few weeks and that’s it. I’d rather read a book....

Not a chance! I heard a movie about a mute woman janitor teaching sign language to a weird water creature then the two of them falling in love as she fed him/it hard boiled eggs won best picture. Enough said!
