Blessed indeed and that's a couple of nice items... (reply)

I rarely see the USFA guns (besides Rodeos) and that's a shame because they are really nice. I hate that the company went out of biz as I really liked my Flattop Target and wanted 1/2 dozen other guns they made. They had such a cool product line. What a waste of talent to see them go under.

As to TL Targets...of course!

Nice. Photo below... (reply)

That was a pretty common custom project in the pre-WWII and immediate post-WWII era. Griffin & Howe, among others, did a number of them and they bring a nice four-digit sum today, more if engraved by one of the better known engravers which did G&H's engraving work.

I really like mine and I didn't pay G&H prices for it, but the shop where I bought it had no information on who had done the work and I can find no markings on the gun at all.

Guess I'll just have to admire it and be thankful I was lucky enough to stumble across it.

I wonder why they took a 1922 to sporterize it? Why not an 03? Nicely done though it was a rare action to foster that project.

What's on your wish list these days? (reply)

A 12 Bore and a 22 to round out the "arsenal". Shucks, I'm ready to settle for a 12 Gauge (difference? in MY mind the 12 Bore is a classic double, the 12 Gauge is a more modern action).

The good news is, there's a rumor that the Army Store folks brought in a shipment of Berettas, including the Belmonte which appears to be a Benelli inertia type action semi-auto, and they are actually almost "affordable" (being a relative term). If we can chase down the proper channels and find a way to get 'er done, that'd just leave the 22 portion to fill out.

That describes my life! (reply)

It seems nearly everything I have is an ongoing project, whether it is a firearm, a vehicle, a structure, or the land they all sit on. I love projects, but it is going to take almost 200 years to get all of the ones already in queue completed. My want right now is not for anything new, just the time and finances to complete and then enjoy the projects already owned.
