Sounds like Fancy Gap Mountain (reply)

The names are familiar but I'm not sure where that incident was. Made that drive every December for 10 years and it only happened once.

Fancy gap mountain most of the time puts one ups the mountain in Creekers video where fog is the issue. Plus interstate 77 rolls right over it for sure. Could have been Flat Top mountain (ski area) also.

A few years ago I was driving south thru the high mountains toward Beckley and the fog was so thick I could not see the front of my hood - not fun on an interstate. We finally got to lower elevation and it eventually cleared.

Once back in late 83 I was coming out of Peachtree (reply)

Hollow (holler)in a jeep at midnight after working the evening shift in a mine we had down over to the left. When I got up to 99 it was so foggy and frozen my buddy had to walk along side of the jeep with a light and shine it down to find the edge of the road while I creeped along in low range 4WD he guided me through the fog until we got to a lower elevation. The road was frozen slick after a rain. He had to hold on to the jeep fender while locating the edge of the blacktop. Like driving through a cloud.

I have many followers on my facebook page. Many were forced to leave this area for work & better opportunities & haven't been home for many years. I do a video now & then for these people to remind them of where they did live. Thought you guys might enjoy this one.
