Little history on the Triplelock

The fellow who sold it to us is a former New Hampshireite, transplanted to Washington. He is in his early '60s.

According to him, it was his grandfather's revolver, and spent quite a few years with gramps in Alaska. This is actually the second time the gun has been in the shop. He first brought it in around a year ago, maybe a bit more. We made an offer on it that he turned down. At that time he had a thoroughly worn out Lawrence flap holster with it, that had not only seen the elephant but most of the rest of the zoo. Since then the holster has disappeared, I suspect tossed away....sigh.

The guy appreciates (not) that gramps was no doubt the real deal. He knew that his grandfather had the gun re-blued in Alaska. Also mentioned that gramps carried a "big" Winchester lever action. He sold that off about twenty years ago as he couldn't find .45-90 ammo. Aargh! Gramps gave him both guns directly. I'd like to have a drink with his grandfather, this guy not so much.

There oughta be a law.......
