I bought an early '90s matte ORM Combat Commander a couple years ago on GB for $700. Stock except for Wilson Nite-Sites which had faded somewhat. Seller was hoping to get a bit more for it, but I was happy, and I believe prices have come down a bit since then.

FWIW, the early ORM 1991s are not much to look at with the matte black finish and huge "billboard" rollmarks, BUT I am given to understand that they are some of the best-made, most reliable and durable 1911- pattern guns Colt ever made. Mine certainly is top-notch, and doesn't spend much time in the safe. I put some burnt-bone grips on it, and the ugly has kinda grown on me.....

Anybody got a good handle on a price for this one. Shot a few times but very very clean. Thinking of buying it and don't want to screw my buddy. Colt Commander 1991A1, 45 ACP Matte Stainless Steel.
