Good show! (reply)

I have normal to smaller hands so there is no issue with fit using the factory magazine so I think this little gun will be great for my intended use if I can learn to shoot it.

I've never been bothered by the LCP. However, I haven't shot more than 50-75 in a sitting. It looks like it'll do for you.

Ruger LCP (reply)

Good show...practice with that little dude. I've been loading 380's since the 80's and they are easy to load for. They are more potent in a quality firearm than most people think and can be relatively accurate, as you can see.

Looks like a good first outing... (reply)

Look forward to spending time with mine. This is the smallest firearm I've owned so it will be fun learning to shoot it.

they actually are more fun than you would think. I appreciate your posting about it as it got me back in the mood to practice more with my LCP.

You inspired me to buy a few hundred rounds of brass, 500 bullets and dies...and a 2nd LCP. I've owned .380s but never reloaded for them before. Go figure. I always carried them a lot and shot them very little. I'm going to shoot mine more and have the 2nd one in reserve.

Ruger LCP

First shots today from the Ruger LCP. This is my first 380 & wasn’t sure what to expect. The Ruger field stripped very easy for cleaning & lube before firing. The gun fits my hand very well & is easy to hold with my middle & ring finger.

Total rounds today, 66 each with 48 Blazer 95 gr. FMJ & 18 Hornady Critical Defense 90 gr. FTX. I began with the Blazer rounds loading 6 in the magazine & one in the chamber. From the first round to the last no misfires & no failures to feed. It’s easy to see a loaded round, note picture 2.

I guess the sights on these are the weak spot but in rapidly failing light they were completely adequate for my 7 yard target with a 1 ½” bull.

I wondered if the little pistol would bother my hand like single action sixgun’s do. The only thing I noticed was it bit my trigger finger slightly but now 3 hours later no sore spots so don’t think I’ll have any problems with 200 round strings.

All in all I’m happy with the first trip out. The only real surprise was the effort inserting a loaded magazine with the slide forward.
