didn't know there was a Hogue grip for LCP - Thanks! (reply)

You have to take off a pin out of the frame at the top and replace it with a longer one IIRC and remove the plastic thingy at the bottom of the grip. So you have to save these if the Hogue grip goes south. The grip really makes shooting it more pleasing. Used to be with the original grip I'd cringe whenever I shot it. It would sort of sting. Now its not bad at all

I handled my first one at CSA when Jeff Quinn graciously handed me his and a box of ammo with instructions to give it a go. As soon as I got back to MN, I had my pusher order one up for me. It's been a constant companion ever since and the finish is beginning to show it. (Even was walking into the airport once when Miss Beth stopped me and asked if there might have been something I forgot.) Had an issue with the magazine 'auto-releasing' but, taking advantage of Ruger's recall, had that taken care of when it went through their upgrade.

I has flawlessly fed and fired everything I've stuffed into it. Including the ammo rejected by Melodie's Glock (shhh, don't tell anyone) or her Body Guard. It did not, however, provide a one-stop-shot on a rogue porcupine but it was early and I was in my skivvies so the concentration needed for good shot placement was likely a bit lacking.

For what it is, I believe you'll be happy. I've been seriously thinking of getting another.

Mine is an early, post-recall model... (reply)

that has seen 200-250 rounds a year for the past 5 years; and it was well used when when I got it. I've never added anything to it other than a fresh magazine when the one on board ran dry. It's never choked with anything. I stripped it to the frame awhile back for a well-earned deep cleaning, I didn't find any peening, battering etc.

It's a great little pocket gun that has replaced the many before it.

They are not comfortable plinkers. Change the grip to a Hogue. Not the sleeve but the one that you have to install. It repositions the way it is held and is much more comfortable to shoot.

People not familiar with semi automatics. They were also "spraying" rather than a decent cadence - there was no time requirement! It has been rare for me to have malfunctions as well but several pistols I bought were used and already broken in. My son did have a Charles Daley Hi Power with issues the first box of ammo. Trigger stopped working. I did have a Taurus Millenium that wouldn't shoot for sour apples - turned out to be a bad barrel but it would still have passed a carry class. Didn't like lefties either - sometimes the magazine release would get set off (I have now reversed the release).
