I lucked out big time

Finally got a chance to fieldstrip the new/old .38 Super Commander yesterday. It's in remarkable condition inside for a gun it's age. Obviously been taken care of. Clean and well lubricated, with surprisingly little wear on the alloy frame. It does have the old rim-headspace chamber, but seems to be accurate enough nevertheless.

I put a buffer on the recoil spring guide. Figure that's a prudent thing to do with an alloy-frame gun. I'm going to shoot factory ammo and mild handloads in this one, and reserve the buffalo stompers for my steel-frame Gummit Model. I believe I'm going to like this little sucker.
