About the bridge, when they started the project there were 32,000 cars a day crowding across the little two lane bridge upstream from where they put the new bridge. Now there's over 70,000 cars a day crossing that bridge - and about 35,000 a day still use the old bridge. Yes,we have a traffic problem.

By the way, funny story. That photograph you sent me years ago of you standing in front of that cable stayed bridge in your community still hangs on my office wall. All of the people who worked back then are now long gone. All the new guys ask about the photograph and I just tell them "Oh, he's a guy who used to work here.""Now he inspects bridges in South America." "You come to work here, you never know where you'll end up!"
