<p>In this day that seems like forever.  It's a nice reality check.</p>

<title>Factory letters are fun... (reply)</title>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>and sometimes confusing.  It's common for close serial #s to be years apart on shipping.  There's all kinds of weird and interesting things in factory letters.  </p>
<p>How long did that letter take to come to you?</p>

<title>Colt letter received on a pawn shop find.</title>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is still just as it was from the factory.  Interesting that Colt's website says it was made in 1939, but the shipment date was 1947.  I never thought a piece of paper was worth $75, but this is very neat to have for the first time.  </p>
