Let's talk Sharps rifles... (reply)

I have Pedersoli 1874 Sharps replica in 45-70 (45-2.10). I installed Shaver Soule sights on it. It shoots great and is comfortable. I wanted a C. Sharps but due to cost, I went with the Pedersoli. I am happy with it. Truth be told, I just don't shoot it anymore. I considered selling it. It's a fun gun. Don't ignore the Pedersoli version.

Let's talk Sharps rifles... (reply)

I have always been fascinated by Sharps rifles, yours was a real looker! A friend has an original 50/70 cavalry carbine and it is a tremendous amount of fun to shoot, even if the trigger pull feels like it must be 100 lbs. Maybe someday I will have the money to acquire one of my own, but there is so much that needs my attention first.

Pinto's Guns in Renton, WA. Diana is the owner and very nice. I almost bought it and have no problem recommending it or the shop in general.

Shop phone is 425-227-9280. Tell her Bryan or John told you about the Shiloh Sharps. It's a nice gun with good wood and very clean. Bullets, brass, dies, etc.

mcassill has one. (reply)

I have an 'Italian before they were good' copy of the 54 caliber paper cartridge Sharps. Decent looking on the outside, rough as a cobb on the inside. It still goes KA-BOOM! when you light it off. Haven't played with it for a couple of years but I think it'll go piggie chasing one of these years.
