the Performance Center guns. Lots of issues across the board but somewhat random (like quality control was an issue). Beretta, Cimarron and Uberti were the same guns I believe.

I shot the S&W and an Italian one side by side.... (reply)

....at the first or second Nor Easter. Too many years ago to remember which one it was. Whomever's came out first. There was one Italian one and the S&W released at the same time. I remember the Smith was. Much nicer gun, fit and finish, plus being more correct size wise (cylinder) because it wasnt 45 colt. But I so remember thinking if I bought one, the clone would be plenty good enough for my uses , especially considering the price difference at the time.

Yes, curious if you could... (reply)

compare the fit, finish & function of them? The Performance Center guns aren't cheap and aren't easy to find but I'm def curious about them. I hear the Italians are a mixed bag. Thanks!

I don't recall the year. In .45 Schofield. It's a sweet pistol for sure. Something specific about this'un you want to know? I could grab it next time he ain't lookin' and let you know....just sayin'.

Edited to add: Oh yeah, Bro' Dan has an Italiano in, I think, .45 Colt. We could look at that as well.

i have the uberti....smooth nice, and seems accurate and (reply)

reliable.....have only shot mild 'cowboy' 45 colt loads through it. i think a number 3 style scholfield in 38 special would be neat, could shoot it a lot for cheap. the beretta and cimmaron are all just ubertis . ASM made a schofield and everything i ever heard about those was bad. the repros that were made by S&W are now quite pricey and they only use the 45 schofield ammo.

Any Schofield shooters among us?

I've often thought of getting a Schofield or two but never had the chance to handle many of them. They seem to get a lot of mixed reviews. Beretta, Cimarron, Uberti, S&W Custom shop made them in addition to the vintage guns.

Any experience out there?
