Jeff update from Souette

Jeff Quinn Update:
Hi friends...I really am stunned at the genuine inquiries coming in from all over the world.
I can actually feel the warmth of the prayers in this room. Its hard to describe but the prayers and kind thoughts provide a calm atmosphere in the day's whirlwind of activity as well as in the stillness of the night.
And so, for those who ask...here 'ya go so I communicate the same thing to everyone:
2nd dialysis completed this evening with a total of 6 liters / 14 lbs of fluid removed.
Another treatment may lie ahead in the next 48 hours.
Heart rate and blood pressure improved.
He's still heavily sedated and hands restricted due to the numerous tubes in his body and especially the throat leading to lungs and stomach.
The ventilator continues to breath for him.
Needless to say, when words such as "life-support" started being used, my tears dampened his bed as I prayed all night for Jeff to go home to see the grandkids again.
The Drs explained today that the life support is in place at this time to allow Jeff's body and his lungs a good rest as they begin to heal. The machine is doing the work for him. His lungs are kind of on vacation after being labored so much the past 2-3 weeks.
Weaning from the ventilator should begin within 48 hours depending on the strength & ability of his own lungs.
When Jeff does on occasion begin to ease out of the sedation, he attempts to communicate with hand signs...or that uni-brow frown I'm so used to. But those times are fleeting. He does follow the nurses simple verbal commands as they work with him
I'm here at all times in case he eases awake and I can talk to him hoping he hears my voice.
When he recovers from all this, I will be anxious to see him do a video recounting his thoughts and or dreams the past few days.
Because...as he lays perfectly still..I see his trigger finger moving. Squeeze, release, squeeze, release, squeeze, release.....
I kid you not!
Thanks again all. With warm gratitude,
~Souette
