I have to shoo the deer and turkey at times from the 500 yard range. Wouldn't shoot one for love or money as it just aint fair chase. They like that grass. More than once a buck wandered into my sights and I had to wait until he was off to the side so I could shoot. Most often they wouldn't run off until you barked em with dirt.

I make that same drive Lynn at least once a week. Usually to the 500 yard range to plink with whatever I have. Usually a long barreled flintlock or percussion sidelock round ball shooter. I shoot silhouette at Friendship if your wondering why I'm shooting long range round ball (200 yards maximum)at the 500 yard range.

But then there is always fun with a 303 SMLE or an M-39 ringing the 500 yard gongs so easy it makes the AR guys envious and I'm an AR guy myself. Maybe I'll run in to you out there someday
