I love Pathfinders, though, and have a couple. Never had that problem with them.

I hope the front sight does not fall off like it did on both my pathfinders. I will have to say the Pathfinders were suprisingly accurate with the front sight attached though.

Like my SS Bulldog for the purpose I bought it for.. Have only run a hundred or so rounds thru it and really should break it in so I am sure all fuuntions continue to function.

I really like my bulldog having it around for a couple decades. I never got the chance to get one in 22lr and would have snagged it in a NY minute.

Wouldn't mind one of those. Maybe someday they'll reintroduce the 3" Pathfinder in 22LR and 22WMR too. I let a 22LR one get away from quite a few years ago. It was a great little gun to take along bird hunting.

it is in my left hand pocket right now. very easy to carry, very easy to make 25 yard hits with. With the porting and the Hogue made ribbed grips the felt recoil is less than a standard alloy J frame.
Unfortunately, they are no longer made, but they can be found, like this was, on the used market.

Charter Bulldog Classic 44 Special

Charter has been promising to re-issue the old-style 44 Bulldog for a couple of years now, but they are still not officially available. They are listed on Charter's web site (http://www.charterfirearms.com/products/Charter_Bulldog_Classic.html), with no picture and no estimated date of availability.

They will be available sometime, though, because we managed to get a few! And they are VERY nicely done - those, like me, who love the old Bulldogs will really appreciate these. Like the originals, the barrel is 3" tapered; the ejector rod is not shrouded; the front sight is the correct old streamlined type; and the finish is beautiful, polished even a bit better than my original Bulldogs. The only place where they let me down is, they use Charter's current checkered rubber grips instead of the checkered wood like on the originals. They do spec the checkered wood grips on their web site, and the box notes wood grips, but mine all came with checkered rubber. A call to Charter didn't do any good, they are still not sure if the wood grips will ever be available.

Anyway, this is an extremely nice reissue of a great old revolver. Once they become readily available, y'all oughtta gitchee one.
