Favorite bulk three five seven bullet... (reply)

I have found the 158 gr. XTP to be superb. I used the 158 Speer for years with satisfaction, too, but then found the XTP to be more accurate in my guns.

I like the XTP for an all around bullet. I bought a small pile of them from Midway several years back for around $0.15 each IIRC. Still have a bunch left. I don't shoot .357s much anymore.

Even Midway can sell the XTP for $.20 per. That is a lot of brass but I would lean towards a bullet that will satisfy performance wise rather than just price wise. I like the XTPs.

Plated bullets haven't been satisfactory in such loads for me either.

Check these out (reply)

I have never used them but they have a good rep...

http://montanagoldbullet.com/index.php/catalogsearch/result/?q=.38

Midway has Magtech 158 JSP for reasonable price.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1657168253/magtech-bullets-357-magnum-357-diameter-158...

I never had much luck with the plated bullets in any hot loads.

I use Presisin Delta 9mm JHP for some 9's but 99% my cast for 38/357, even the hot loads.

Favorite bulk three five seven bullet...

I have an 5 gallon bucket full of fired three five seven brass that I have be walking around for the past couple of years and have finally decided to crank up the Dillon and get it all reloaded.

Load will be a WW small pistol magnum primer and a case full of 296/H110. Full power .357 Magnum load.

What is the boards favorite .357 bullet? The ammunition will be fired from a mix of Rugers, S&Ws and a couple of carbines.

I am leaning toward the bulk pack 158gr jacketed hollow points from most of the major manufactures.

I want a no muss no fuss setup.

Thanks,

Byron
