Update (reply)

TK Custom says w/in 3 weeks they'll have moonclips for the 45 Redhawk.

Revolver Supply determined that diameter is such that their S&W dies won't work.

possible alternative (reply)

Thanks fellows.

I contacted Revolver Supply Co. in New Mexico. George there replied they could do a run of thinner .032 material (using his existing die) as long as their S&W 45 pattern will fit into the Ruger cylinder correctly.

I accepted his offer to try a sample of his product in my Redhawk which I should have in hand next week to hopefully verify it will drop in nicely in my particular gun.

Please feel free to contact him and express interest.

http://www.revolversupply.com/contact/

They charge approx. $0.55 to $1.20 per clip depending on quantity for S&W 45 cal. moonclips, quite a savings vs. factory.

45 Cal Redhawk moon clip question

In the Ruger store I see the moon clips listed as 0.032" in thickness.

http://shopruger.com/Redhawk-45-Auto-_-45-Colt-Moon-Clips-3-Pack/productinfo/90483/

Will S&W 625 moon clips (0.040") work in the new Redhawk ?
