That is a tremendously good idea, way above my pay grade.

I'm gonna scrounge around my shop and try sliding pvc over my scraper.

Slip over it. I was using it for the really tough stuff like ice on the bottom of my hatch.

.........that would work for me on my side windows only. Even the longer handled jobs can be problematic if I'm not on a milk crate.

Off topic - Ice Scrapers

If you are in need of a heavy duty ice scraper, Kabar makes one they call the Lake Effect Ice Scraper made of grivory (same stuff Cold Steel makes their plastic knives out of). I have had the unfortunate joy of using one several times this past few weeks. Denser that the cheapo scrapers and heavier. Does a great job but a longer handle would be nicer. Now if we could just get Rob to make a holster for it....
