This place is out of the way for sure. I was traveling home from my fish camp at Smith Mountain Lake & decided to drive up through a section of Monroe County, WV were Barbara & I are considering a move. Going west through Vinton on Rt.24 I took I-581 to I-81S & exited at 141 which is Rt.311 which I took north. This road passes through some of the most beautiful country Virginia has to offer.

I drove through Hanging Rock, Bennett Springs, Catawba, Abbott, New Castle, & up the mountain to Potts Slope Road. The sign here read Potts Slope Shooting Range.

It's not the Wythe state range that's near Newberry's place. Terrain looks similar but Wythe doesn't have the nice road.

I never went to that one...I had 'other' ranges.
