New 10mm (reply)

Good results Glen - the 10 brings a lot of power to the table and I found it accurate. I sold mine because my old wrist can't take it any longer. I still have a MetalForm mag and some brass if you would like them for the cost of postage.

It all depends on the grips... (reply)

With rubber grips you need a nylon leg holster, with those G-10 grips you need a leather holster but it needs tactical in the name. If you put some pretty wood or stag stocks on it, Rob can fit you up with a shark skin holster it would be right at home in:)

New 10mm

I have always been a big fan of the 1911, and by "1911" I mean the 5" Government Model chambered in .45 ACP. That being said, for whatever reason, the concept of a Commander sized gun chambered in 10mm has intrigued me for some time. So, when a friend of mine needed money for his house remodel and was putting a Rock Island Arms MST II up for sale (NIB no less), I jumped on it. I took it down to the range this morning and got it broken in and sighted in. There were a couple of failures to feed, but those were ammo related, and not the gun's fault. The jury is still out on the textured grips and fiber-optic front sight, but I'm trying to keep an open mind and learn new things. First impressions -- this is one tight little pistol, and one that has a lot of potential!

Target with the 200 grain cast HP derived from the RCBS 10mm 200 grain SWC, at ~1100 fps.
