Prayers Sent... (reply)

Well remember my Dad having nasal polyps removed when I was a kid, still makes me wince. They kept him awake and chiseled them out with a small chisel and mallet, it was very painful. Hope all goes well for you.

OT: Recovering from nasal surgery and more to come

Folks:

I was supposed to have had a nasal polyp removed Friday morning but when they got there, the surgeon discovered a tumor the size of a cherry tomato. They stopped right there as it was a rare form of tumor (believe me, a phrase you never want to hear from a doctor) and a transfusion would have been necessary.

They did widen my nasal passage on the left side (hurts!) and put in packing with a water-filled ballon (20 cc). South Jersey residents may have heard the scream this morning when the doctor tugged it out slloowwllyy.

I need more testing, another MRI at the very least, and then I have to go to Philly for more specialists and then another surgery.

May be cancerous, may not be. Still waiting for the test on that. May know tomorrow.

More details as they become available.

Despite the pain and nausea, struggled through the annual East Coast Regional Iaido Seminar and Shinsa (competition) and earned a 3rd kyu. Also am shooting in a local winter pistol league. Swords and guns ...

No work for the rest of the week.
