Mine has malfunctioned, but (reply)

it was a case of carrying it in the pocket with no pocket holster for several weeks. Full of grit and lint and very dry inside. Of course the first round fired but the second failed to feed and when I did get it in the tube it failed to eject and the third one was crammed in behind it.

After a thorough cleaning it digested several magazines full of ball mixed with Fiocchi XTP hollow points.

Needless to say I keep it in a pocket holster now and check it often.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on that shotgun (reply)

Thanks Sarge. I like the barrels shorter than average myself. I had a v/r 870 barrel cut back to 19" with Rem Chokes. I keep thinking about getting an auto though for some reason, probably the reduced recoil.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on that shotgun (reply)

I've wanted a nice auto for awhile and I think this 11-87 fills the bill. I've shot about 100 rounds of Federal field loads through it; it seems reliable.

It took me a few rounds to get used to the long barrel and that big ol' Bradley bead; but I was pretty much hammering clays with it awhile ago from our little cheapie thrower. Peggi shot it a 5-6 times and I don't think she missed a bird with it. She said the recoil was Scarcely noticeable, but she gets pretty focused on killing those clays LOL. I'd say it kicks about as little as any 12 gauge I've shot in recent memory.

To tell the truth, I like short barrels better than long one and sooner or later this will get trimmed to 22-23" and a set of True-Chokes installed. It's a light contour barrel and there ain't enough meat to re-install the Rem-Chokes, that far back.

LCP...the reason more people than ever carry a gun rather (reply)

There's one in my pocket right now. The biggest drawback (other than the pitiful sights) is you forget you are even carrying it :) I put a laser sight on mine. Mine has never had a malfunction from new in the box to a few hundred rounds.

Discovered the LCP...

I've been on a buy/sell/trade binge of late and one of the items accumulated was a used Ruger LCP. It's in good condition but you can see where a tiny bit of rust was developing along the top of the slide. This was of small consequence because it's going in my uniform cargo pocket where it will get rained and sweated on some more. I got a box of Tula Brass Maxx FMJ ammo in the deal

The little gun was dirty and dry but it chugged through 30 rounds of ball w/o complaint. It also shot much better than the several examples of these I’ve seen at qualifications and I was damned happy about that. All the following fired deliberately at various distances. Photos taken w/$39 cell phone, so 'mea culpa'.

5 rounds at 7 yards

5 rounds at 15 yards, plus 7 rounds at 25 yards.

Other booty from the raid- a 11-87 Premier 12 gauge automatic, essentially new in the factory hard case w/all chokes & accessories' and a real nice Single Six.
