<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The revolver is at a dealer.  From the frame, the barrel tapers towards the muzzle.  Most barrels have a straight taper. This one has a bulge about midway then tapers once again towards the muzzle.  Looks like the usual stuck bullet bulge but the bore is straight, without any bulge.  If you lay a straight edge along the barrel it is obvious.  Very odd looking.</p>

<title>S&amp;W 44 mag MountainGun barrel question</title>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>While looking at the barrel on a Mountain gun, i noticed that after the initial taper the barrel bulged and then tapered to the muzzle.  The bore retained a consistent diameter throughout the length.  <br />
Has anyone else noticed this?</p>
