Fundraiser for Jim Taylor’s Mozambique Mission
As some of you know, Jim Taylor has been led to mission work in Mozambique. He has a webpage with more information here:
Jim has asked for prayers, but we all know these things require money as well. In an effort to assist Jim Taylor in raising money for his mission, a like-new 45-70 Marlin 1895G Guide Gun has been donated.
First, for a period of two weeks, we will ask for donations which will to go toward custom work on the above-mentioned Guide Gun. The rifle has been donated already, what we lack are the funds to have it customized. These funds will be collected and, along with the rifle, sent to Mic McPherson. Mic is a well-known lever action gunsmith and a Shootist – take a look at his articles, excellent information and entertaining reading. He has kindly agreed to take on this project. Thanks, Mic!
Next, once the donations have been made - for a period of two weeks a web auction for the Guide Gun and afore-mentioned custom work by Mic will take place and the results posted on this web page. The Sixshooter Community Webservant has graciously agreed to help with the necessary web programming and updating the bidding results. Thanks, Webservant!
Finally, the winning bidder will consult with Mic as to whatever custom work will be implemented within the budget of the initial fundraiser - in other words, the work done will depend upon the funds donated towards the customization. The more funds donated towards the customization, the greater final value for the winning bidder. After he completes the work, Mic will ship the rifle to the owner. This lucky fellow will then not only own a serious heavy-duty hammer, it will also be a custom levergun by Mic!
