As long as the velocity is kept below the speed of sound, it is VERY quiet. 45-70's with 8 or 9 grains of Unique is a real thumper and real quiet. .22 target loads sound like cb caps. The construction of this is visually seen. Just slip the whole mess in a 55 gal. plastic drum with some house insulation inbetween the baffles and your good to go. Just remember to cut the holes (that you shoot through) progressively smaller as you reach the exit opening.----Sixgun

I was in on the design of Sixgun’s muffler and I have shot through it. It works fine but I would caution anyone attempting this to 1) Make sure you put it where you can see EVERYTHING unhindered, You get tunnel vision and it would be real easy to have something or someone walk in front of it while your aiming. 2) Make the EXIT hole larger then the entrance hole. You will get concussion bouncing back and it will give you a headache.
